Junichi Suwabe Joins Cast of Upcoming Netflix Anime Original

Fan-favorite voice actor Junichi Suwabe, known for his roles as Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen and Aizawa in My Hero Academia, has been announced as the lead in Netflix’s upcoming original anime series.

The untitled project is described as a psychological thriller set in near-future Tokyo, featuring an original story from a Naoki Prize-winning novelist. Suwabe will voice the protagonist, a detective investigating a series of impossible crimes.

Production is being handled by a collaboration between Japanese and international animation studios, with a premiere date set for late 2026.

Suwabe expressed excitement about the role, calling it “unlike anything I’ve voiced before.”
