Chainsaw Man Season 2 Production Confirmed at MAPPA

Studio MAPPA has officially confirmed that production on Chainsaw Man Season 2 is underway, with a planned premiere window of early 2027. The announcement was made during a special production panel at a recent industry event.

The second season will adapt the highly anticipated “Bomb Devil” arc from Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga. Director Ryu Nakayama returns alongside the core creative team that made the first season a massive global hit.

MAPPA president Manabu Otsuka stated that the studio has allocated significant additional resources to the production, including a dedicated team of over 200 animators working exclusively on the project.

The first season broke streaming records when it premiered, becoming the most-watched anime debut in Crunchyroll history at the time.
